But I do kinda like the idea of just adding pearl to the factory red color. That would be different enough, but yet I wouldn't have to paint under the hood. I did my 1st partial pearl paint job (pearl white) on my 08 Navigator about 4 months ago, after it hit a deer. I was a little scared of doing a tri-stage pearl paint, but it wasn't that hard. And now that I've done it once, I would do it again in a heartbeat. The worst part was that my arms got tired of holding the paint gun, because it took 14 coats of paint to lay that down, including the primers. I am going to stop at the paint supply store & see if they can do something with that.
